Thus, despite numerous statements by Wolfe and Archie regarding his abhorrence of leaving the brownstone, he does in fact do so. In addition to the occurrences noted below, by inference and statements in the books he leaves for personal errands such as his tailor, doctor, dentist, haircuts, meals at Rusterman's, visits to Hewitt's Long Island estate, etc.
